NAACP Cleveland Youth Council phone bank

On September 28, 2026, we several members of the NAACP Cleveland Youth Council, gathered at GlenVillage, 1400 E. 105th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, to reach out in a phone bank to our fellow Clevelanders and encourage them to participate in voting on or before November 3, 2026.

Scripting the conversation, we showed our volunteers the phone banking process, and we were able to reach three hundred voters in just two hours.

Phone banking is a tried and true method of getting out the vote. Also called canvassing, phone banking is just like walking door to door. Yeah, it's different. And not necessarily faster. But a great way to connect with individuals to ask them to consider voting in local and national elections.

We got the whole spectrum of responses. But when a caller learned they were speaking with a member of the NAACP Cleveland Youth Council, it helped them consider their response. Many of the people we spoke with thanked us for reaching out and encouraging their vote.

We look forward to more phone banking in this and future election cycles.
