Every Tuesday in September 2026 the NAACP Office of General Counsel provides Fall Training Institute!
The Fall Training Institute are legal trainings that will provide members with practical legal education and guidance on timely issues affecting the NAACP and the communities it serves. Led by attorneys from the Office of the General Counsel, these trainings cover key legal topics, emerging issues, and important rights and responsibilities, equipping members with the knowledge and tools to effectively advocate for civil rights and advance the NAACP’s mission.

This introduction to the General Counsel’s Office highlights ways in which the office can support Cleveland NAACP, such as:

The NAACP has responsibilities to its constituents, including members of the communities where local NAACP units operate, donors, and other stakeholders, who have placed faith in the NAACP.
Learn best practices for ensuring that NAACP volunteers and officers:
Promote fairness and objectivity in all activities.
Avoid using NAACP resources for personal gain.
Ensure that personal political endorsements do not suggest or create the appearance of support or opposition by the NAACP as an organization.
Prevent even the appearance of a conflict of interest which would tarnish the image of the Association and undermine the public's trust in the NAACP.
